James SHIRLEY (younger brother of Thomas)
and family arrived in New Zealand in 1852 from Bristol, in the old County
of Somerset, England.
James chr: May 22,
1814 Horsington, son of William Shirley and his wife Ann Crouch of
Somerset Co. England, died July 29th, buried 31st, 1893 at Napier New
Zealand. He was a gardener and farmer. Married Ellen Cook June 17,
1841 Bristol, England. She died Nov 15, 1879 Taradale, buried Napier New
Zealand.
