Blaikley

Surname

  Prince George VA

1713 Estate of James MINGE: MR. WILLIAM BLAIKLEY, AKA JOHN SHURLEY, executor for a parcel of wheat on the ground. ________________________

John Shirley seems to have died around 1719 (see Pr. Geo Co. VA abstracts).

William Blaikley died in 1739..... There is no indication of a William Jr or Sr.

I AM REALLY CONFUSED BY THE "AKA" ABSTRACT. Is this possibly saying that John Shirley has power of attorney for William Blaikley??????

Both Blaikley and Shirley know the same people: Richard Harrison of Prince George (remember all of the Harrison connections in the John Shirley info) sold land to William Blaikely of James City (except land leased by James Bell) 1719. JAMES BELL WAS ONE OF THE ADMINISTRATORS FOR THE ESTATE OF JOHN SHIRLEY 1719.

Blaikley bought and sold land to the Jones Family of Prince George. Paul Jones also appraised John Shirley's estate in Pr. Geo. Blaikley shows up in Prince George abstracts from 1714 to 1719. This is exactly the time of John Shirley. However, John is dead by June of 1719 and Blaikley is in a Dec 1719 abstract. Father and son???

William Blaikley of Bruton Parish m. Catherine. His will was proved in York in 1739 by James and Mathew Shields. His children are Eliz, Benjamin Sadler, James (d.y.), Mary, Jennet Carson, and William whose grandmother was Sarah Weldon of Brunswick Va
