Wm. Presley, the immigrant,
may have come to Northumberland Co. VA with Col. John Mottrom from
Maryland. He was 2nd Burgess from Northumberland Co. VA. He died Dec 1655.
In his will he mentions John Haynie.

1. Peter Presley, Sr.,
married Eliz. Thompson, daughter of Richard and Ursula Thompson. [Ursula,
widow of Richard Thompson married 2nd Col John Mottrom and 3rd George
Colclaugh].
Peter Presley, Sr. had children baptized
in St. Stephens Parish in Northumberland Co. VA about the same time as the
Shirleys.
