Sir Henry
Skipwith, Bart. of Prestwould, Leicestershire England, married Amy Kempe,
daughter of Sir Thomas Kempe, brother of Anne Kempe who married Sir Thomas
Sherley, the elder.
Their son, Sir Grey Skipwith lived by William Shirley in New Kent Co. VA in 1676. He settled on the Rappahannock River in Lancaster Co. in the part that is now Middlesex Co. Diana Skipwith, daughter of Sir Henry and Amy Kemp Skipwith, married Major Edward Dale. (see Dale and Carter). She was the grandniece of Sir Thomas Shirley, the elder and his wife, Anne Kempe). _____________________________________ Christ Church, Middlesex Co. Virginia Hon. William Skipwith and Lady Sarah, son, Henry Skipwith born Oct 22, 1714. He was baptised on Nov 21, 1714.
