cousins, were sentenced to hang on April 17, 1812 in Darlington
Co. SC for burglary. It is not known if the sentence was carried
out. No record of Kelley Shirley could be found after 1812,

She was known as "Sister".
She received many certificates of excellence when she was in
school. She was an excellent cook and prepared her family's meals.
She taught Sunday School at Clayton St. Baptist church and played
the piano. She also taught piano. She was tall with a large build,
had bright red wavy hair with fair skin and blue eyes. She worked
as a clerk in the dry goods section of the local store, owned
by a relative. After the store was sold, she became an Avon representative.
She loved to listen to soap operas on the radio.
