This family was of Carroll Co MO, and Portland OR

1(iv). Caleb Shirley born about 1788 SC; Married in Barren Co KY in 1819 and was enumerated there in the 1820 census. Caleb and his wife sold land in Barren County periodically from 1824 to 1831. Lived in Hendricks County Indiana in 1830 census, and was a member of the Big Lick Baptist Church there. He and his wife Phoebe sold their homestead in Hendricks County in 1839 and moved to Missouri. Enumerated in the 1840 Carroll County MO census at Dorenda Creek. He was administrator for his deceased son John G Shirley's estate in 1849 in Carroll County MO. He lived in Carroll County MO in 1850 census, age 68, born South Carolina. He died Oct 1864 Carroll Co. MO

3(iv). Martha Susan Shirley 1857 m. Milford Riggs Givens. They traveled to Nevada, where they lived for three years, then migrated to Idaho. They pitched camp on the Snake River by a hot springs. they later filed a homestead on the camping ground which later proved to be what is now the famous Given's Hot Springs.

2(v). Daniel Shirley  August 1, 1825, died November 23, 1890 Rayville, MO Daniel Shirley was appointed Justice of the Peace in and for Leslie Township in the county of Carroll in pursuance of an election held in said township on the 3rd day of April 1877. He was appointed Postmaster of Rayville, Missouri on January 10, 1889.

married Sallie Ann Mayes March 24, 1853. She was born January 16, 1832, died July 5, 1900 Rayville, Mo. Sallie was the daughter of Sherrod and Frances (Davis) Mayes. Daniel and Sallie are buried at Crowley cemetery in Rayville, MO (SEE PHOTO BELOW)

3(iii). Sebastian Cabot Shirley  February 14, 1857 died December 21, 1920 m. Eva L. Fee February 25, 1897. No children. They lived in Elko, Nevada where Sebastian was in the hotel-restaurant business.

3(iv). Henrietta Theodosia Shirley January 1, 1859, d. July 2, 1907, m. John T. Bricken March 18, 1877 

3(v). Mollie Jane Shirley January 16, 1861, d. September 25, 1938, m. Luther Alexander Hendrix November 16, 1881 

3(vi). DeLancaster Shirley  January 16, 1861, d. May 6, 1861; Twin of Mollie's.
 
3(vii). Leona Willard Shirley August 16, 1863, d. June 1929, m. Thomas Burel Lee October 24, 1886. He was born March 24, 1859, died 1920

3(ix). Josie Belle Shirley June 8, 1868, d. April 16, 1942, m. John A. Haynes March 5, 1885. He was born February 1, 1857, died June 16, 1936

3(x). Louisa Ethel Shirley August 9, 1870 Carroll Co., MO d. September 19, 1930 Saint Joseph, Mo, m. Willis Tomlinson October 16, 1900. He was born July 12, 1866, died January 30, 1924 Saint Joseph, Mo. They are buried at Crowley cemetery in Rayville, MO.
