The following is a list of meetings or conventions held between June 1979 and June 2005. It was my pleasure to travel to these places meeting Shirleys, researching, photographing old Shirley homesteads and cemeteries, including Shirley headstones. Below the list you will find a few stories about my experiences on some of these trips. I hope you will enjoy them.

Plus... Organized historical tour to New England with 30+ Shirley's, and a meeting in Boston Massachusetts. The group visited NH, NY, PA & made several stops in Virginia. We attended services in the Broad Run Baptist church in Prince William County VA and visited St. Stephens church in Northumberland Co. VA. June 1992 Seattle Washington and Portland Oregon July 1992 Ettington Park in England, and Dublin Ireland June 1993 St. Louis, Missouri Sept 1993 Syracuse, New York and visit to Prince Edward Island in Canada to the home of Anne Shirley of Green Gables fame June 1994 San Jose, California June 1995 Richmond, Virginia and Shirley Plantation, site of the last Shirley Convention. After the convention, our family went on a cruise. I visited Antiqua, and Barbados and ...did some research too! (Gov Wm. Shirley's son, Thomas, had been here).
