Hello everyone!

This is my official farewell email to say what a privilege it has been to have worked with the Shirleys over the past 30 years. I have enjoyed the many hundreds of snail mail letters, info packets and emails received. I have enjoyed traveling and meeting many of you at Shirley Conventions and Shirley Meetings over the years. Planning Shirley tours in England and USA was great fun. This has been the highlight of my life. Thank you to all who attended the meetings and to those who traveled with me to Shirley locations.

A special Thank You to all of our England Shirleys who welcomed me into your homes and escorted me around as well as those who arranged Shirley meetings for me in 2006. All of you were so sure I would be back again when I said this was my last trip over. I was fairly sure this was my last as I could feel a change in my health and ability to get around. I will remember this trip especially. It was so personal for me as before I stayed in hotels, rarely in someone's home.

I may be retiring but you are welcomed to email me at anytime as my email address will remain the same. bettyshirley (at) comcast.net I will continue to have an interest in the Shirley work. That interest will not go away.

Although I will be retired, I will continue for the next 6 months or 1 year to assist with the Shirley DNA project by contacting Shirleys and asking them to participate in the DNA testing. If you or someone you know are interested in participating in DNA testing, please email me.

I am pleased to announce I will have my own personal website and will post a variety of things in the future. I will be posting my own genealogy (I am not a Shirley, just married to one). Also included will be things about Shirley Conventions, meetings, visiting old Shirley homesteads, churches and etc. I also plan to post additional pictures and add a video section. I will have more time to reflect and share stories. I have several things in mind of what I can do over a period of time.
