spinster.
I give unto my eldest son John Shirley the possession of my living
held under the Worshipful Sir Henry Harper so long as he pays
his rent together with all the lands belonging me in the parish
of Alstonefield or elsewhere including all my personal estate
whatsoever and wheresoever (except other legacies). I give unto
my second son Joseph Shirley the sum of L40 as soon as he attains
the age of 21, eldest son to provide sufficient maintenance,
clothing, schooling until can provide for himself. I give unto
my 3rd son Ralph Shirley the sum of L40 as soon as he attains
the age of 21, eldest son to provide sufficient maintenance,
clothing, schooling until can provide for himself. I give unto
my 4th son Benjamin Shirley the sum of L40 as soon as he attains
the age of 21, eldest son to provide sufficient maintenance,
clothing, schooling until can provide for himself. That if any
of my 3 sons Joseph, Ralph and Benjamin shall happen to die before
