Will of John
H. Shirley
In the name
of God, Amen. I John Shirley of he county of Hempstead in the
state of Arkansas, being of sound mind and in ordinary hearlth,
but sensible of the uncertainty of human life, deem it expedient
at this time to make this my last Will and Testament. For my
daughter, Elvira, wife of James McIntyre, I give for the term
of her natural life to deseent at her death to her brothers or
their children, the tract of land on which she now lives, it
being the east half of the southwest quarter section twenty four
(24) in township elven (11) south of range twenty-six (26) west,
containing eighty (80) acres situate in the county of Hempstead
afore said. To my two sons, Walker Wesley and John Fletcher Shirley,
to be divided equally between them, I give and bequeath all other
lands and tnements of which I may died posessed. My wagon I give
to my son Wesley Walker shirley. My beds abd bed clothing I give
to my son John Fletcher Shirley. My cattle, hogs, sheep, household
and kitchen furniture and all other personal property I may have
may be divided equally among all my children. And for the prupose
of carrying into effect the foregoing provisions, I hereby appoint
my friend Doctor Nathan D. Smith Executor of this my last Will
and Testament given under my hand and seal this twentieth day
of February in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty
