		John Shirley b. ca___,  died Feb 2, 1832  They were members of the Turkey Creek Baptist church in Abbeville County South Carolina. 23 Jun 1832 Benjamin and Obadiah Shirley applied for letter of adm. on the estate of John Shirley and on 24 Oct 1832 adm. to Obadiah Shirley. On 4 Oct 1832 Obadiah was made guardian of Loranzo (Loving), Catherine, Arnis, and Elizabeth Ann Shirley, minor children of John Shirley, dec'd. Final settlement Married Elizabeth Fields, daughter of Obediah and Catherine (Burton) Fields. children: All born in Abbeville Co. South Carolina 1. Obediah Shirley Aug 29, 1804  died Feb 18, 1889 Honea Path, South Carolina and buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery. They settled in Honea Path in Anderson Co. SC. John received a Royal land grant Mar 2, 1764. The house Obediah and wife Jennie built is still standing and is located one-half mile west of Honea Path. They along with others from Barkers Creek, Broadmouth and Big Creek Baptist Church organized the First Baptist Church of Honea Path during the year 1869 with 19 charter members. Obediah was one of the first deacons. He was a farmer and a large landowner and was known to give liberally to the church and to Christian education. He hauled cotton to Hamburg (now Augusta) which was the largest market.   He married Jennie Armstrong Mar 18, 1824. Jennie Armstrong was the daughter of John Armstrong and Isabella Bryson. Obediah and Jennie Shirley   2. Nathaniel Shirley  b 1806   settled in Texas 3. John Jasper Shirley b 1808  died prior to 1832 4. Benjamin Amaziah Shirley b June 10, 1811 Abbeville Co. SC d. June 4 1886 Forsyth Co. GA   Married Susannah Lee Jan 17, 1837. She was born Aug 13, 1813 SC, died Sept 4, 1900 Forsyth Co. GA. Both are buried at Union Hill on McGinness Ferry Road. They came to Forsyth Co. GA about 1845-47. 5. Lorenzo D. (Loving) Shirley b 1813 Abbeville Co. SC, lived in Fayette Co AL in 1850 census; He died in Houston TX married Rebecca______ children: (1). Sarah E. Shirley 1839 (2). Madison Shirley 1842 (3). Massoline Shirley 1845 (4). Georgianna Shirley 1846 (5). Tabitha C. Shirley 1849  6. Elizabeth Ann Shirley  1815  married Robert Chamblee 7. Annis Shirley  1817 8. Ann Catherine Shirley 1822  died Mar 9, 1846   married James Christopher Wright, son of John and Drucilla (McAdams) Wright of Virginia.
