First appears in Wilkes Co GA Tax list in 1794 with Edward Shirley, then in the 1795 tax list of Warren Co GA, when that county was formed from Wilkes County that year; Census profile clearly shows he is the correct William Shurley living in Warren Co GA in 1820. Warren Co in 1830 and Jones Dist Warren County in 1840 census (ae 60-70, living next to son Edward Shurley, ae 30-40); He died 1841 in Warren Co GA
